First let me say I LOVE LIFEHACKER. They have it seems millions of websites, or tips, or applications that help you be more productive or that are just cool and fun. I don't know if a family tree application should be looked at as productivity software, but it definitely is cool.
Let me first get this out of the way. It's Our Tree.com is beta software. That means its buggy, may crash, and not always work the way you expect. But if it is possible to have fun mapping out all of your relatives this is how you do it. Creating my account was very straight forward. Next thing I knew I was adding family members left and right. The interface is very interactive so you will find yourself adding brothers, sisters, spouses, etc. in no time. Less than an hour later I had mapped out most of my obvious family tree.
Another cool thing about It's our tree is that you can click on any entry and add finer detail. So you can always go back to refine you tree. I do wish they made the entities drag and drop, but I'm sure they will get around to that. Also, what site doesn't have an e-mail account contact grabber. This one right here buddy. But since you don't want to make your family tree public Internet knowledge I can live with that. Overall, its a great site. Can't wait to see how this site develops.
